Every homelab accumulates a layer of undocumented decisions — the port that had to be remapped, the sysctl that fixed the throughput problem, the reason the VLAN is numbered the way it is. Six months later none of it is recoverable.
So: notes in public. Partly so I can find them again, partly because someone else searching the same error string might save an evening.
